Student Success Strategic Leader Pool Director

About the role
EAB seeks a Pool Director to support a pool of our Navigate360 and Starfish technology partners. The Pool Director will manage partner health, service strategy, renewal and growth strategy for their assigned pool, as well as the Strategic Leaders, both directly and indirectly, in their pool. This role serves as a point of contact for executives across their pool and is responsible for managing key business and operational metrics for the Strategic Leaders assigned to their team. This position is open to hires in Washington, D.C. or Richmond, VA (preferred) or is open to remote employment within the continental U.S. The official title of this hire is expected to be Director, Student Success.
Responsibilities
- Manages and reports on partner health and strategy for both individual partners and the pool of partners they oversee.
- Responsible for overall pool health, including assessing partner health, managing renewals, strategy for utilization, and identifying business growth opportunities.
- Serves as the escalation point for the pool, assisting Strategic Leaders in challenging moments with partners.
- Leads a team of Strategic Leaders, including both direct and indirect reports, focusing on their skill development and growth in the role.
- Identifies growth and upsell opportunities for both prospective and existing partners, collaborating with Sales and Account Management teams to execute.
- Prepares for and facilitates partner discussions, both virtual and onsite, including leading executive-level meetings to advance strategic priorities.
- Supports Strategic Leaders in the pool on executive discussions as needed.
- Collaborates with other EAB teams (e.g., product development, technical support, research, enrollment services, and executive leadership) to surface partner challenges and ensure a coordinated service approach.
- Engages with EAB executive leadership on successes, challenges, and trends across the partner pool, serving as the main contact for the entire pool.
- Leverages knowledge of higher education trends to inform partner service approaches, strategies, and provide references as needed.
- Contributes expertise to the larger team to inform and innovate business practices.
- Serves as the primary contact for a group of partners, managing the end-to-end relationship with the institution, including providing strategic guidance, aligning institutional goals, fostering relationship development, and delivering ROI to support contractual renewal and growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% (valid Driver’s License required).
- Subject matter expertise in higher education student success.
- Ability to build client relationships that result in new business opportunities, with an emphasis on managing executive relationships.
- Proven ability to prioritize across multiple projects and relationships.
- Ability to create compelling stories validated with data and proven best-practice research.
- Intellectual curiosity, persistence, and creativity in problem-solving.
- Team-oriented but also highly self-sufficient and self-motivated.

Pay
The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $92,500 - $115,000 per year. Actual salary varies based on relevant experience, skills, and location. This hire will also be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation, dependent on individual and organizational performance.
