Responsibilities
- Supports the Libraries’ mission to empower students for a lifetime of success and impact.
- Works collaboratively with library colleagues and campus partners to develop and deliver outreach, programming, and instruction that connect undergraduate students with the Libraries’ people, services, spaces, and expertise.
- Coordinates the Libraries’ Personal Librarian Program and works with colleagues across the Libraries and campus to connect students with library services, learning opportunities, and experiential learning environments.
- Contributes to the Libraries’ instruction program by teaching library instruction sessions for undergraduate courses such as ENG 101 and COM 110.
- Serves as an Ask Us Service Manager, responsible for public service operations during assigned shifts at one of the Libraries’ primary Ask Us service points, including supervising student employees, making operational decisions, and providing virtual reference services.
Qualifications
- ALA-accredited MLS, MIS, or equivalent advanced degree
- Relevant professional experience, such as experience in delivering information and research services in an academic library, or teaching, training, library instruction, or outreach
- Demonstrated record of engagement with a user community and commitment to creative, high-quality library services and facilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects from planning to completion, including coordinating with cross-departmental collaborators, facilitating meetings, and maintaining project documentation
- Ability to design, implement, and sustain new services and programs
- Foster an environment of belonging and well-being
- Communicate clearly and knowledgeably
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Evidence of ability for professional development and contribution
