Responsibilities
- Negotiates licensing for and acquires library materials in all formats, with an emphasis on e-journals and databases.
- Led the Libraries' license team and provides leadership on licensing practices while liaising with vendors, consortia, and Collections and Research Engagement librarians.
- Develops and documents workflows, processes, and best practices to support e-resource lifecycles within an system-driven environment.
- Maintains close working relationships with content providers, vendors, and consortial partners in support of e-resource acquisitions and access.
- Responsible for triaging and troubleshooting serials e-resource access problems.
- Participates in establishing and defining projects, priorities, and goals, and manages e-resource projects including developing workflows and training staff.
- Collaborates and works with colleagues across the Libraries to support acquisition, licensing, discovery, and use of e-resources.
Qualifications
- An ALA-accredited MLS, MIS, or equivalent advanced degree is required.
- Knowledge of trends and practices in electronic resource management.
- Understanding of current and emerging models, practices, and tools as they relate to library acquisitions, licensing, and metadata management.
- Familiarity with library management systems supporting acquisitions and discovery functions, such as integrated library systems (ILS), knowledge bases, electronic resource management systems (ERMS), issue tracking systems, or discovery interfaces.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to foster an environment of belonging and well-being.
