Student Success Coach (Volunteer)

About the role

Lifting Our Voices (LOV) is seeking passionate professionals to join our National Team as Student Success Coaches. This volunteer leadership opportunity is ideal for individuals who are committed to developing the next generation of student leaders while advancing community service, civic engagement, and leadership development on college campuses across the country. As a Student Success Coach, you will serve as a trusted mentor, advisor, and accountability partner to collegiate chapter leaders. You'll help students navigate organizational leadership, strengthen their professional skills, and successfully execute programs that advance LOV's mission of addressing food insecurity, homelessness, and civic engagement.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach Chapter Presidents and Executive Board members throughout the academic year.
• Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions to support leadership development, goal setting, and chapter success.
• Guide student leaders in planning and executing signature LOV initiatives, including Sandwich Run, Cover the Hood, LOV Week, voter engagement efforts, and other community impact programs.
• Monitor chapter progress, identify opportunities for growth, and develop action plans to strengthen chapter performance.
• Provide training and guidance on leadership, project management, communication, volunteer engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
• Foster accountability by tracking goals, following up on action items, and supporting continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate records related to chapter operations, service impact, partnerships, and leadership engagement.
• Serve as the primary liaison between assigned chapters and the LOV National Leadership Team, ensuring consistent communication and organizational alignment.
• Support students in navigating challenges while cultivating an inclusive, positive, and empowering leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion for mentorship, leadership development, and community impact.
• Experience in education, nonprofit leadership, student affairs, youth development, coaching, project management, or related fields.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and inspire emerging leaders.

Time Commitment

Approximately 2–4 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
