Student Success Advisor

South College is seeking an experienced academic advisor to join our Orlando team of Student Success Advisors (SSA). Responsibilities

• Serves as a facilitator of communication to students, faculty, and other departments
• Coordinates the learning experiences of students through course and career planning and academic progress review
• Acts as an agent of referral to other campus agencies, as necessary
• Provides academic outreach to at-risk students
• Shares program requirements, assists with registration, and supports career planning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Previous experience working with college students, ideally as an academic advisor and/or in college student success and retention
• Comfort with technology and strong communication skills
• Collaborative work ethic and ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Skills to advise via phone, email, text, and virtually
• Ability to speak to college students individually, present to groups, and quickly develop rapport with a diverse population
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
