Student - Sports Information Assistant

Newman University’s Athletic Department is seeking reliable and responsible student workers to assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications. This role involves attending and working multiple sporting events.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down before and after games.
• Record live statistics and update social media during games.
• Assist with scoreboard operation, public address announcements, and music/audio functions during games.
• Operate the camera and live streaming monitor.
• Occasionally write game stories and provide graphic design or photography.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time (12 credit hours per semester).
• General knowledge of athletic events with a background in sports preferred.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Some heavy lifting and moving of equipment required.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Pay

$8.25 per hour

Schedule

• Maximum of 20 hours per week.
• Days and times vary week to week, with most hours during evenings and weekends.
