About the role

Performs a variety of moderately complex administrative tasks requiring some independent judgment related to ensuring the successful completion of the daily operations of Admission, Registrar and Student Financial Assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily management of the visit phone line by identifying customers’ needs and directing callers to ensure impeccable customer service and timely response to all inquiries and concerns related to the visit experience.
  • Assist the Senior Visit Coordinator, including front desk coverage, room scheduling, and coordinating faculty appointments.
  • Provide administrative support including calendar management, triaging calls, preparing agendas for meetings, and other duties as requested.
  • Provide event and project support as requested.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date files and computer databases on students.
  • Serve as an informational resource for students and parents; investigate and resolve problems and difficulties regarding admission, registration, and financial assistance.
  • Interpret policies and procedures.
  • Assist students and parents in various routine and non-routine activities regarding admissions, registration, and financial assistance.
  • Perform intermediate to complex administrative tasks including processing admission applications, credentials, and decisions; registration, course evaluation, classroom scheduling, and evaluating transfer coursework; processing student loan applications, monitoring loan progress, and processing scholarship applications.
  • Monitor and review projects; ensure all necessary changes are made.
  • Gather and analyze statistical information regarding admission, registrar, and student financial assistance programs and activities; produce reports.
  • Perform administrative tasks including answering phones, typing, coordinating bulk mailings, ordering supplies, and copying.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires twelve months of coursework or training beyond high school and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of unit's operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and office applications.
  • Knowledge of related state and federal laws, e.g., FERPA.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds.
  • May require supervisory, clerical, and/or research skills.
