Student, Radiology Tech

A Student Radiologic Technologist who excels in this role must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of anatomy, image quality, communication to patients, radiographic positioning, technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. They must also exhibit a pleasant and helpful demeanor, assist in maintaining a hazard-free work environment, perform routine diagnostic imaging studies, vary work schedules, ensure accurate and timely patient examinations, maintain efficient patient positioning, and provide accurate computer entries and filmings.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill in radiographic positioning, technique, and radiation safety.
- Communicate the nature of tests to patients and alleviate their anxiety.
- Maintain a work area free from hazards.
- Perform routine diagnostic imaging studies as needed.
- Vary work schedule to accommodate patient needs.
- Ensure patient examinations are performed accurately and promptly within 30 minutes.
- Provide accurate patient positioning, computer entries, and filmings.
- Maintain an effective use of time and report availability accordingly.
- Assist others and display willingness to help.
- Apply professional knowledge to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Requirements
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Must be working on completion of a Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology (verification from school is required).
Certifications: BLS required.
Qualifications
Must be enrolled in a Radiologic Technology program and actively completing coursework.
Skills
Knowledge of anatomy, image quality, communication, radiographic positioning, technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques.
