Student - Private Tutor SCUP

About the role

Under the direction of the SCUP education counselor, the private tutor works one-on-one with upper-division college students in math, science, and business courses. Providing academic tutoring assistance, tracking progress, reporting to SCUP education counselor, and fulfilling other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Tutors students one-on-one.
• Records notes from tutoring sessions.
• Communicates with Education Counselor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UVU student.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Preferred: Two or more years of experience tutoring or studying the subject.

Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge in math, science, business, or English.
• Advanced knowledge in other areas such as languages, social sciences, etc. will be considered.

Skills

• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Maintaining accurate records for official files.

Abilities

• Ability to relate to a diverse population of students.
• Ability to follow through with assignments, schedules, and appointments.
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism.
• Ability to work independently with dependability.
