Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions with individually matched 1st graders and other early elementary school-age students located in the greater Silver Spring area.
- Develop and implement personalized activity-based and other grade-level appropriate learning lesson plans.
- Communicate progress and goals with parents.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications
- Passion for teaching and engaging with younger students.
- Strong knowledge of early elementary education subjects, particularly foundational ELA, reading fluency, phonics, and numeracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience with younger students preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check.
