Student - President's Office Assistant
About the role
This role is expected to continue throughout the summer and into the following academic year, with the potential for longer-term employment. The position will require approximately 6–10 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors to the President’s Office and assist or direct University faculty, staff, and students, as well as members of the larger community to the appropriate persons/areas on campus.
- Prepare correspondence, spreadsheets, mailings, and copies as necessary.
- Help cover office during lunch if possible (flexible 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.).
- Answer telephones as needed.
- Aid in all office file maintenance.
- Process incoming/outgoing US and campus mail daily.
- Maintain office supply inventory.
- Help to keep the office areas tidy and organized.
- Support the Director of Mission Effectiveness occasionally.
- Complete University-required trainings, including FERPA and Title IX.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be a current Newman University Student enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours).
- Strong organizational and communications skills.

Schedule
- Hours can be flexible but a student who can work two hours per day over lunchtime on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays is highly preferred.
- Number of hours per week: 6 - 10, depending on student’s availability.
- Days and Times needed: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Need office covered during the lunch hour (flexible, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.); remaining schedule will depend on student’s availability during regular office hours.
Pay
Rate of Pay: $8.25
