Student - Phlebotomy Training
About the role
The Student - Phlebotomy role works under the guidance of assigned Laboratory leadership and is taught how to perform proper specimen collections, handling and processing of specimens as well as training in our laboratory computer information systems.
Responsibilities
- Commit to working as a Phlebotomist for a NorDx lab immediately upon completion of the program for a period of at least 18 months.
- Pass all aspects of the classroom training including: quizzes/tests, clinical practice hours, and other hands-on activities.
- Complete a minimum of 200 sticks by end of the training.
- Follow direction from the Pre-Analytic Trainers as well as mentors and be signed off by a supervisor or mentor as competent to perform Phlebotomy.
- Follow all departmental and organizational procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent service to our patients.
Requirements
- Must be able to work any shift, holiday and/or weekend as needed.
