About the Role

Student Program Staff will be an active team member in the creation, implementation, facilitation, and assessment of cutting-edge primary prevention education for the University of Kansas. This position focuses on assistance with social media and outreach marketing management, and outreach programming facilitation. The role involves close collaboration with SAPEC staff, campus and community partners, and KU undergraduate and graduate students.

Responsibilities

  • Support programming in the areas of Universal prevention (40%).
  • Assist in facilitating trainings and group discussions (20%).
  • Assist in the logistical and programming needs of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (15%).
  • Develop outreach material for social media marketing schedule (10%).
  • Assist with program assessment and data analytics (10%).
  • Perform other duties as assigned (5%).

Requirements

  • Completion of required AY26 online sexual harassment training.
  • Experience demonstrating use of Microsoft Office Suite, design software, and social media platforms.
  • Prior experience working both independently and/or as a team member.
  • In good standing through the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with public speaking and/or small group education facilitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience and/or training on interpersonal violence prevention.
  • Completion of Jayhawks Give a Flock.
  • Experience creating original content for marketing or visual communication.
  • Prior experience demonstrating the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Position Requirements

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods, the student hourly must meet one of the following:

  • Have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester, or
  • Be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours, or
  • Be enrolled in summer session, or
  • Be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.

Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments do not apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR. This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.

$12.00 per hour
