About the Role
As our Student Nurse Tech, you will provide essential direct patient care support under RN supervision, gaining vital hands-on clinical experience. You will perform and document delegated patient care tasks for diverse medical/surgical patients, seeking guidance as needed and contributing to a dynamic clinical environment. To be successful, you will demonstrate a strong passion for nursing, meticulous detail, empathy, and excellent communication, prioritizing patient needs and a commitment to learning.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient personal care/hygiene and physical comfort within assigned tasks, including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothes, bed making, ambulation, lifting, turning, moving, transferring, enemas, skin care, and bowel/bladder elimination.
- Provides additional care as required to meet the personal primary needs and comfort of assigned patients based on skill, ability, and patient acuity.
- Prepares patient, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures/examinations.
- Performs, monitors, reports, and documents all clinical activities within assigned tasks.
- Observes and reports changes in patient condition to the RN.
- Assists nursing staff in the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients by performing activities such as inventorying/storing patient belongings, providing relevant personal care/comfort items, orienting patient/family, and transporting patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or patient beds.
- Provides patient information to nursing staff for inclusion in the interdisciplinary plan of care; documents relevant patient data in accordance with work unit standards.
- Maintains a neat and organized work environment.
- Orders, stocks, and replenishes supplies and equipment as necessary; identifies and reports problems with supplies or equipment; enters equipment repair requests, tags equipment, and removes from service.
- Participates in quality assurance/improvement initiatives and activities.
- Actively participates in ongoing education and orientation to the role of an RN, remaining within scope at all times.
Requirements
- Current enrollment and in good standing in a Bachelors of Nursing, Associate of Nursing (RN), or LPN to RN nursing program, or recent graduate of such a program.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification.

Pay
$15.67 - $22.14 per hour.
