About the role

The Student Nurse Scholar I+4 is a participant in the Nurse Scholar Program and assists in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, safe patient environment.
• Performs job responsibilities in a safe manner according to policy and procedure.
• Promotes a culture of excellence.
• Maintains position competencies as appropriate to the needs of the patient population served.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Currently in good standing in a Registered Nurse academic program.
• Minimum completion of first semester of Registered Nurse academic program preferred.
• Current listing with the applicable state Department of Health and Human Services Nurse Aide I Registry prior to start date required.
• BLS required per policy.
• Nurse Aide I+4 Course required: E-learning and instructor-led skills practice.
• Must be validated twice by an RN on each skill before performing independently.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Currently in good standing in a Registered Nurse academic program.
• Training: Nurse Aide I+4 Course required.

Skills

• Manual and finger dexterity.
• English communication skills (good understandable terms).

Days/Nights 12-hour shifts Rotating holidays, weekend requirements.
