Student Monitor

Summary

Maintain order and assist students during lunch, recess, study hall, in-school and/or after school detention. Support behavior management and provide educational guidance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor students during lunch, recess, study hall, in-school and/or after school detention.
• Ensure students have access to food and maintain proper hygiene practices.
• Assist students in opening/closing containers during lunch.
• Communicate and demonstrate appropriate behavior and manners.
• Work with students to line up safely and ensure safety on the playground.
• Take attendance in study hall and In-After School Suspension/Detention.
• Support student behavior management according to district guidelines.
• Communicate behavioral concerns to administration.
• Provide assistance to students needing additional educational guidance.
• Assess playground safety and report concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No experience required, but one-year experience providing general supervision to students or within a classroom environment preferred.
• Experience with working with school age children preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

License, Registrations or Certifications

• Criminal background check required for hire.

Salary Information

All Classified positions are paid on an hourly basis. New hires are placed on Step 1 of the pay grade for their position, with the potential to advance up to Step 8 based on experience. Final hourly placement depends on the Grade Level for the position being posted.
