Student Ministries Pastor
About the Role
The Student Ministries Pastor will passionately minister to students by making disciples and leading them to “Go farther” with God’s global mission. Under the supervision of the Executive Pastor of Family Life, this role serves on the Family Life Team to provide leadership and influence to students (6th through 12th grade) and their families, volunteers, and paid staff members. The ideal candidate is called to student ministry, demonstrates previous experience in leading a strong ministry, and enjoys hands-on engagement with students while developing leaders. The goal is to grow the ministry from 125 regularly attending students to 200 connected to FBC Peachtree City and engage the 20,000 students across 7 local high schools and feeder schools in the area.

First Baptist Church Peachtree City is a conservative evangelical church with a strong Southern Baptist heritage, committed to making disciples and answering God’s missionary call. The church values sound biblical teaching, authentic worship, relational community, generous giving, missional living, and leaving a spiritual legacy. Its mission is to “Influence all people into intimate fellowship with Jesus.” FBC Peachtree City pursues this mission through healthy disciple-making ministries in southwest Atlanta and globally, supporting 36 strategic global mission partners. The church offers two contemporary modern worship services on Sundays and a modified Wednesday night schedule, and actively engages the community through its Bridge Community Center.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an engaged member of the ministry staff for the overall mission of the church.
- Make and grow disciples personally and through the student ministry, leading/overseeing student LIFE Group ministry, worship experiences, and missional/discipling events (camps, retreats, DNow, mission trips).
- Oversee the effective utilization of ministry resources, including budget and financial processes.
- Regularly engage with students, families, volunteers, vendors, service providers, and the community.
- Prepare and deliver messages in separate large group gatherings for middle school and high school students, addressing relevant topics creatively.
- Develop and grow leaders within the student ministry, supervising staff and volunteers for effective ministry achievement.
- Communicate effectively with leaders and participants to accomplish ministry goals.
- Model consistent Christ-like character, biblical stewardship, and commitment to the church’s mission.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer/software for office use and utilize audio, video, and digital resources for ministry.
Requirements
- College or seminary degree preferred.
- Proven experience in leading student ministries with a strong biblical teaching/preaching background.
- Experience in recruitment and training of leaders in student ministries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write and engage people.
- Strong organizational and strategic skills for student ministry administration.
- Active and growing follower of Christ, committed to personal discipleship and modeling faith.
