Student - Medical Surgical Technician

About the role

Responsible for assisting registered nurses and physicians in providing patient care in a medical-surgical setting. Duties include monitoring patients, administering medications, collecting specimens, and performing diagnostic tests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation.
• Assist in preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to supervising personnel.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic lab procedures.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Ensure sterile technique during patient care activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification as a Medical-Surgical Technician from a nationally recognized agency.
• One year of related work experience preferred.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills.

Pay
