About the role
Responsible for assisting registered nurses and physicians in providing patient care in a medical-surgical setting. Duties include monitoring patients, administering medications, collecting specimens, and performing diagnostic tests.
Responsibilities
- Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation.
- Assist in preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor vital signs and report changes to supervising personnel.
- Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic lab procedures.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families.
- Ensure sterile technique during patient care activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Medical-Surgical Technician from a nationally recognized agency.
- One year of related work experience preferred.
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
