About the role
The UT Libraries’ Marketing and Communications department is seeking an energetic, creative, and self-directed student to assist with and contribute to communication efforts that promote UT Libraries to our campus and community.
Responsibilities
- Create social media content that promotes UT Libraries, its resources, and services (captions, static image, carousel, video scripts, voiceovers, short-form video, and/or long-form video)
- Collaborate on planning, development, and scheduling of social media content and campaigns
- Ensure digital content and postings across all channels comply with established accessibility standards
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- UT student (graduate or undergraduate)
- Enthusiasm for communicating with UT students, faculty, and staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to multitask
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube)
- Familiarity with video editing software like Instagram Edits, Canva, and/or Adobe Premiere Pro
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Videography and/or photography experience
- Ability to track and follow social media trends
Qualifications
- Coursework or experience in communications and marketing, journalism and electronic media, social media, cinema studies, or related fields
