About the role

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking Interns for Fall 2026 to work on-site in Huntsville, AL on software development or systems engineering on a variety of defense programs. The selected candidate will work as part of a team to add value to customer deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Achieve a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • Work 40 hours per week - Full Time or 20 hours per week - Part Time.
  • Write code in multiple languages supporting multiple projects.
  • Lead tasks and teams.
  • Show strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts.
  • Show familiarity with Linux and open source tools.
  • Show ability to manage configurations.
  • Communicate technical ideas clearly.

Requirements

  • Be a US Citizen.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • Be registered for Full-time Internship Credit or 6+ credit hours for Part-Time Intern.
  • Have experience in 1 or more programming languages.
  • Have task/team leadership experience.
  • Have strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts.
  • Be familiar with Linux and open source tools.
  • Be able to manage configurations.
  • Be able to communicate technical ideas clearly.
