About the role

Reports to the food services supervisor or designee. Assists the cooks and cook helpers in preparation of student meals in compliance with government and management directives.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clean-up and sanitation duties in the food preparation, storage and dish room areas to ensure adequate health standards at all times.
  • Provides adequate supply of food and transfers merchandise ingredients to cooking area as instructed by the cook or designee.
  • Student snack bar, clean outside area and other duties as assigned in the Admin Building.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Job Corps Center Student currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be reliable and willing to work evenings and some weekends.
  • Must be in good standing with a privilege level of at least Silver and have been on Center for a minimum of 90 days.

Qualifications

Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
