Student Intern, Food Services

MTC is proud to operate the Joliet Job Corps Center in Joliet, IL. Our staff provides quality services to local youth and values dedicated professionals who improve lives.
Responsibilities
- Reports to the supervisor, food services or designee.
- Assists with cleaning and sanitizing the facility, in compliance with government and management directives.
- Washes dishes and stocks supplies to the service line.
- Cleans and sanitizes food preparation area, dining area, serving lines, and dish room; complies with health standards.
- Provides positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other center customers.
- Supports, promotes, and enforces the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Supports and promotes student employability programs and activities.
- Promotes the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Maintains accountability of property; adheres to safety practices; attends all required staff training.
Requirements
- Some school/training in food preparation.
- 90 days on center.
- Aptitude for cafeteria-type duties and dress to comply with sanitation regulations.
- Valid food handler’s permit if required by the state of employment.

Must be a current student attending Joliet Job Corps Center.

Tuesday - Wednesday 4:30 pm 6:30 pm and Friday - Sunday 4:30 pm
