Student Intern, Facility Maintenance

MTC is proud to operate the Joliet Job Corps Center in Joliet, IL. Our staff provides quality services to local youth and values dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and preserve all flooring and/or covering by scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing and sweeping surface.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and associated fixtures.
• Wash walls, windows, ceilings and woodwork.
• Dusts desks, bookshelves, cabinets and other office furniture.
• Collect and dispose of all trash, litter, and other debris on grounds, streets and parking lots.
• Sweep and clean exterior steps, entrances, landings and sidewalks.
• Use basic cleaning compounds, waxes and disinfectants as provided by supervision.
• Maintain center appearance and preserve all improved grounds by cleaning, weeding, mowing, trimming, sprinkling, fertilizing, reseeding or planting.
• Maintain all trees or shrubs by pruning, trimming and spraying.
• Participate in student employability programs and activities.
• Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
• Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
• Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
• Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.

Qualifications

Must be current student attending Joliet Job Corps Center.
