Student - Instructional Assistant - Exercise Science 2500

Class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00–9:50 AM, and Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 AM–12:45 PM.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting and managing laboratory activities related to sports medicine.
• Provide support during in-class activities, including splinting, taping, modalities, monitoring vitals, and instructional support.
• Help students understand and execute test protocols accurately and safely.
• Engage in objective grading of assignments and laboratory practical assessments.
• Conduct meetings with students to assist them in completing their final projects, offering guidance, and clarifying course material as needed.
• Collaborate with the course instructor to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive learning experience.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and ethical standards in the laboratory.

Requirements

• Must be a current UVU student.
• Must have completed the UVU course ESXC 2500.

Skills

• Strong foundation in sports medicine testing and principles.
• Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with the equipment used throughout sports medicine, is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students.

• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff members.
