Student House Manager
Position Summary
The student house manager (SHM) is responsible for house managing performances by Hugh Hodgson School of Music ensembles, assisting the PAC Patron Services Manager (PSM) during PAC season events, as well as some rental performances. The SHM may also be asked to manage the concession stand when the need arises. The SHM is either the sole or one of the front-of-house points of contact for patrons, artists, and ushers during events. The SHM should be confident, well-spoken, and work well under pressure. Most of the ushers whom the SHM supervises are students, so the applicant should be comfortable leading and enforcing rules with their peers. The SHM will be trained on all responsibilities, including emergency procedures and usher expectations. Most events are on weekday evenings with a call time of 5:30pm, as well as occasional weekend events and a few morning children's concerts. Shifts typically run in 4-5 hour increments and are based on event schedule (some weeks are busier than others). Training will begin in August. This is a paid position. Interviews will be conducted in person at the UGA Performing Arts Center.
