Student hourly employees will work in the School of Education's Learning Resource Center, assisting students, faculty, and staff while maintaining the center, computer labs, and mediated classrooms.

Responsibilities

  • 60% – Assist students, faculty, and staff with resources available in the Learning Resource Center.
  • 40% – Maintenance and support of the Learning Resource Center areas, computer labs, and mediated classrooms.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a position requiring good communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • During the semester term of the appointment, must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods, must meet one of the following:
    • Enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester, or
    • Pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours, or
    • Enrolled in summer session, or
    • Admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
  • May be undergraduate or graduate students (exceptions for GRA/GTA/GA appointments do not apply).
  • Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by unit leadership and HR.
  • Cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of children's literature.
  • Dependable and able to work well with little supervision.

Pay

$10.25 per hour
