Student Experience and Programs Coordinator
About the role
The Student Experience and Programs Coordinator will manage, administer, and provide operational and administrative coordination for established student programs and initiatives across the Carl Vinson Institute of Government (Institute), which currently include: the Vinson Institute Fellows Program, PROPEL Rural Scholars Program, and Georgia Legislative Internship Program (GLIP); as well as new student orientation, student engagement, student professional development, and student recruitment efforts.
Responsibilities
- Support student participation, mentor engagement, meetings, communications, events and program logistics.
- Collaborate with the HR team on the broader student employee experience.
- Collaborate internally across each of the Institute’s eight divisions to accomplish tasks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with external stakeholders, including but not limited to, schools/colleges, Graduate School, Experiential Learning, Student Affairs, Office of Academic and Community Engagement, Career Center, etc to support coordination and communication efforts related to student engagement programs and experiential learning opportunities.
- Manage operational activities, implement program processes, and support ongoing program administration and evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
- The preferred qualifications for this position include a master’s degree in higher education, student personnel administration, or related field. Career services, student affairs, and/or mentorship program experience is preferred.

Demonstrate excellent time management and the ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities. Creative thinker who can receive constructive feedback on ideas. Articulate a proposal clearly and concisely for a new strategy or solution to a problem so that others can quickly and easily understand. Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
