About the Role
The Student Engagement Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Philadelphia, PA. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing programs and initiatives that foster student engagement, belonging, and success across the university.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate student events, workshops, and leadership activities.
- Collaborate with campus partners and student organizations.
- Support orientation, transition, and retention efforts.
- Communicate regularly with students to promote opportunities, gather feedback, and connect them with appropriate resources.
- Maintain records and track participation data.
- Prepare reports and contribute to the continuous improvement of student engagement strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience or education in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or a related field that supports student development.
- Prior experience working in a college or university setting, especially in student activities, residence life, or student support services, is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build inclusive, collaborative relationships with a diverse student body and campus community.
- Effective communication skills, including clear written communication, public speaking, and active listening.
- Knowledge of student engagement and student leadership practices, with the ability to design and facilitate programs that encourage involvement and growth.
- Event planning experience, organizational and time management skills, problem-solving ability, and proficiency with office and communication technologies.
