Responsibilities
- Uphold the Career Engagement Office's professional formation and developmental approach to lifelong learning through student employment.
- Ensure that Seattle University student employees have a chance to self-reflect; develop transferrable skills, clear outcomes for their roles, and feedback loops for their performance; and articulate their career ready and transferrable skills to prospective employers.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and reinforce student skills and competencies.
- Provide coaching and training to student employees at all stages in the process: finding opportunities, creating learning outcomes, seeking feedback, reflecting on performance, and translating experience to ongoing career development goals.
- Employer Relations - On Campus Constituents: Develop goals, evaluate programs, and partner with internal and external hiring managers to ensure a transformative experience for student employees with a particular emphasis on equitable access for those opportunities. Actively consult with an eye toward new on campus employment opportunities for students, providing ongoing expertise and guidance for drafting new positions, recruiting talent, and retaining students, all with a lens of maintaining an equitable and inclusive working experience for the student staff.
- Create and facilitate supervisor training and curate resources for supervisors.
- Operational Management And Strategy: Strategize and continually assess streamlined processes for all student employment initiatives including: Federal Work Study, On and Off-Campus State Work Study, Institutional Student Employment, across all populations: including special needs of International Students, Undocumented Students, and Graduate Students. This includes auditing current practices; benchmarking with local, regional, and national peers; recommending updated systems and processes; and bringing together stakeholders in support of institutional change and evaluation, including considerations of compensation and budget.
- Communicate regularly with campus and partners, creating and disseminating reports and benchmarking data to track outcomes set for student employment.
- Absorb and host career engagement events and programming in collaboration with admissions and orientation for incoming students. Lead the planning and execution of student employment hiring events, coordinate with enrollment and orientation for appropriate onboarding event presentations, and serve as point for student recognition activities (Shine Awards, student employee of the year awards and National Student Employee Week).
- Serve on committees or task forces as appropriate.
- Participate in professional development, including as a representative of SU's Career Engagement Office through involvement in appropriate associations, like NSEE and WASEA.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Possess exceptional time-management and prioritization skills.
- Hold a Master level degree and more than one year of related experience or hold a Bachelor level degree with commensurate experience specific to working with college student workers.
