About the role

At Spla School, we believe the hardest part of learning a new language is taking the very first step. As a Beginner Level Spanish Teacher, your mission is to transform hesitant, anxious students into confident, curious learners. You will lay the absolute foundations of the Spanish language, creating a highly supportive, lively, and psychologically safe environment where making mistakes is celebrated as a vital milestone. Working closely with our Level Mentors, you will use communicative and task-based teaching methods to get students speaking from day one, dismantling the traditional fear of grammar translation.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Philology, Education, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience teaching Spanish to beginner adult learners (A1 - A2) in an online or hybrid setting.
  • High proficiency in English to assist with foundational instructions and grammar contrasts.
  • Reliable, high-speed internet connection, professional microphone, webcam, and a quiet, well-lit remote workspace.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience teaching native English speakers and a deep understanding of their common linguistic hurdles.
  • Native-level fluency in Spanish with an excellent command of standard grammar and pronunciation.
  • Training in communicative, natural, or task-based language teaching methodologies.
  • Familiarity with digital interactive whiteboards, collaborative presentation tools, and educational gamification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver highly engaging, interactive, and structured digital lessons designed for beginner students.
  • Foster a warm, encouraging classroom dynamic that reduces conversational anxiety.
  • Introduce core grammatical structures and vocabulary contextually through practical, real-world tasks.
  • Assess individual progress and coordinate with SPLA School Level Mentors to adapt lesson plans.

About the job

The "intermediate plateau" is where many language journeys stall. As an Intermediate Spanish Teacher and Fluency Mentor, your role is to guide students over this obstacle. You will specialize in turning passive knowledge (reading and listening) into active, spontaneous communication. Your lessons will demystify complex grammatical concepts—such as the subjunctive mood and past-tense contrasts—contextually, utilizing educational psychology to build speaking resilience. You will act as a bridge, transforming functional learners into independent, expressive speakers ready to navigate any social or professional setting.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Language Education, Spanish Philology, Applied Linguistics, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching intermediate adult learners (B1 - B2) online.
  • Proven expertise in designing and using task-based lesson plans that prioritize oral output.
  • Excellent digital literacy, including experience managing online learning platforms, video tools, and shared resources.

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong background in educational psychology or cognitive approaches to adult language acquisition.
  • Native or near-native Spanish speaker with a clear, adaptable speaking register.
  • Experience developing customized digital worksheets, multimedia prompts, and conversational guides.
  • Active bilingualism (English/Spanish) with personal experience overcoming a language barrier.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and teach dynamic intermediate lessons focusing on conversational agility and cognitive fluency.
  • Provide personalized, highly structured feedback loops to help students identify and correct recurring errors.
  • Scaffold lessons to tackle complex structural concepts (subjunctive, idioms, reflexive verbs) in practical contexts.
  • Actively mentor students to transition from structured classroom practice to spontaneous conversations in the Speaking Club.
  • Collaborate with the academic team to update digital curriculum toolkits and conversational materials.

About the job

At the advanced stage, general textbooks become obsolete. As our Advanced Spanish Teacher and Cultural Mentor, you will guide fluent speakers toward near-native precision, stylistic elegance, and professional authority. Your lessons will treat students as intellectual equals, engaging them in sophisticated debates, literary analysis, and commercial negotiations. You will deconstruct regional idioms, double meanings, and professional registers, preparing students for official DELE certifications (C1 or C2) or high-stakes global careers.

Minimum qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Spanish Philology, Hispanic Studies, Translation, or Applied Linguistics.
  • Certified DELE Examiner (Instituto Cervantes) for at least level B2 or higher.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience coaching advanced students, corporate executives, or academics.
  • Proven ability to teach business communication, advanced argumentative writing, and Hispanic culture.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience teaching Business Spanish, Legal Spanish, or Spanish for diplomacy.
  • Published articles, academic research, or content creation in the field of modern language pedagogy.
  • Native Spanish speaker with deep knowledge of dialectology, regional variations, and standard Spanish grammar.
  • Familiarity with preparing candidates for professional presentations or cross-border negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intellectually stimulating, high-level advanced lessons (C1 - C2) focused on stylistic writing, rhetoric, and cultural integration.
  • Provide intensive, certified preparation for students targeting the official DELE examinations.
  • Curate and design authentic teaching materials, including podcasts, news articles, literary fragments, and corporate case studies.
  • Co-lead high-level debate boards, literary clubs, and advanced sessions within our signature Speaking Club ecosystem.
  • Advise international professionals on cultural nuances, negotiation etiquette, and regional variations across the Spanish-speaking world.
