STUDENT ASSISTANT - CARTOONIST - FOGHORN NEWS POOL

Position Information

The purpose of this position is to provide editorial cartoons for each edition of Del Mar’s student newspaper, the Foghorn News.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill Student Assistant assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. An application is valid for one year, at which time applicants wishing to remain in the POOL must reapply and update their information.

Position Summary Information

• Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
• Experience with a college publication or other news publication preferred.
• Experience in art preferred.

Job Duties

• Create editorial cartoons for each edition of Del Mar College’s Foghorn News.
• Create other illustrations as needed to accompany news and entertainment features both in the print and online editions.
