About the role
Student Ambassadors at Student Horizons serve as guides and mentors for incoming university students in Boston. In this part-time role, Ambassadors help new students navigate campus, explain academic structures and resources, and share information about student organizations and extracurricular opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Answering questions about university life and offering practical advice on time management, study strategies, and social integration
- Coordinating small group meetups and supporting orientation activities
- Using social media or campus communication channels to share helpful updates with new students
- Maintaining consistent presence and collaboration with university partners to ensure that incoming students feel welcomed and supported
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse groups of students
- Effective communication skills, including clear speaking, active listening, and empathy
- Comfort with giving presentations and leading small group discussions or tours
- Interest or experience in education, student support, or peer mentoring
- Ability to use social media responsibly to share information and engage with students
- Current enrollment or recent graduation from a college or university in the Boston area
- Flexible availability and time-management skills
- Knowledge of campus resources, student services, and extracurricular opportunities
