Barrett, The Honors College is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Student Admissions Support Specialist to join our admissions team. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about higher education and dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals.

About the role

Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University is a selective four-year residential college offering innovative honors courses, study abroad, research opportunities, and merit scholarships to high-achieving and highly-engaged undergraduates. Barrett has more than 7,000 students across ASU’s Tempe, Downtown, Polytechnic, and West campuses. Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospective students and their families via email, phone, and in-person to provide information about the honors college and the admissions process.
  • Maintain accurate records of student applications and communication using the college and university’s databases and software.
  • Create regular reports of application activity to share with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments, primarily recruiting and advising, to ensure a smooth admissions process for prospective students.
  • Serve on the admissions committee, evaluating submitted applications for each honors college enrollment option.
  • Contribute to application enhancements and process improvements through testing the online application system.
  • Participate in special projects with staff as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and three years (3) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Barrett, The Honors College.
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education (honors college/program experience preferred).
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with admissions databases (PeopleSoft, Salesforce).
  • Applicant must be eligible to work in the United States; ASU/Barrett, The Honors College will not sponsor this position.

Working Environment

  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of a desktop computer.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse at a workstation.

Pay

$44,000 per year
