Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Project Manager for the Structures Subsystem to manage multiple program schedules and cost/control accounts that include labor and non-labor elements. This role, based out of our office in Mountain View, CA, requires the ability to embrace change at a fast pace, demonstrate quality decision making, and leverage interpersonal skills while working with Executive Management, Program Management, Subsystem Management, People Managers, and Engineers. The role is part of the team assigned to deliver a complex subsystem for a given spacecraft and is responsible for ensuring that the subsystem is produced, from contract award to final subsystem delivery, within budget. The successful candidate will have experience working with complex systems and manufacturing, possesses strong project management skills, can leverage financial acumen, is detail oriented, and is able to communicate comfortably and succinctly with all levels of engineering and management. Responsibilities Interface between organizations to develop schedules that meet program needsEnsure that engineering, part procurement, fabrication, assembly, and test proceed as planned and help initiate mitigation steps when issues ariseInterface with Executive Management, Program Management, Subsystem Management, People Managers, and Engineers to report status and forecasts, manage costs, and mitigate risksAct as the Cost/Control Account Manager (CAM) for the Subsystem WBS Cost/Control AccountsLeverage project management skills to:Manage performing organization labor associated with each cost/control account within a given budgetManage non-labor scope associated with each cost/control account within a given budgetPartner with the Subsystem Director for a given program to ensure delivery of all engineering and hardware products within budgetIdentify and mitigate cost growth risks for labor and non-labor in collaboration with the Subsystem Director and appropriate people managersWork with the Program Manager to review monthly cost growth risks and mitigation plansPerform weekly cost review activities to proactively identify growth risks or savings opportunitiesSubmit monthly financial reviews and updates, as authorized, to the ERP systemSubmit monthly risk and opportunity updates to the ERP systemParticipate in organizational process improvements related to CAM processes and toolsParticipate in business development costing exercises, as required Minimum Requirements U.S. citizen or permanent residentBachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, or other STEM field. An additional four years of experience may be substituted for a degree.5 years of related work experience. A master’s degree qualifies as 2 years of experience.Excel proficiency Preferred Qualifications Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly the satellite industry2 or more years of experience as a cost/control account managerStrong project and financial management skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExceptional organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skillsExperience in budget and resource managementKnowledge of advanced Excel, such as pivot tables, formulas, VBA, and vlookup In support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within California is: $87,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
