About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structured Cabling Technician who will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cabling systems for our organization. This role is primarily a national travel position, supporting projects across the country at various client job sites, with the potential for international travel. You should expect frequent and extended travel as part of standard work assignments. As a Structured Cabling Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity and communication solutions for our clients' projects. Your expertise in network cabling, fiber optics, and industry standards will be crucial in delivering high-quality and efficient cabling solutions.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Cabling Technician or similar role, with a good understanding of network cabling installations and maintenance. 3+ years experience preferred.
- Proficiency in using cabling tools and equipment, such as cable testers, fusion splicers, OTDRs, termination kits, and cable management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Valid driver's license.
- In-depth knowledge of cabling standards, including structured cabling systems (e.g., ANSI/TIA-568, ISO/IEC 11801) and fiber optic cabling (e.g., OSP, ISP) preferred.
