Responsibilities
- Instructing multiple welding related classroom courses including Workmanship, AWPSS and Safety Briefs
- Instructing multiple structural related classroom courses
- Provide quality oversight of supplier embedded instructors to support site training needs
- Directing and assessing hands on training with practice and tests
- Enforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits
- Assessing student performance & identifying nonconformance to policies, procedures and technical documents
- Supporting various course content reviews and related activities
- Conducting assessments as needed/scheduled
- Manage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork
- Meet with Focus Factory Leadership regarding student performance as needed
- Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics
- Communicate with other team members to advance work & communicate issues
- Support the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of welding trade experience
- 2+ years of work experience at Electric Boat Instructing/teaching experience (formal or informal)
- Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS …ETC)
- Advanced educational course work including certifications, Associates or other advanced education degrees
- Proficient in 3 or more welding processes
- Experience with non-destructive testing, AWPSS & SRT
- Experience with various business systems i.e. SRT/LMS, PQS, ATA
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and OneNote
- Successful candidates for the position will: Have a strong ability to prioritize & complete multiple complex assignments
- Have a strong ability to direct in a classroom and workshop environment
- Have excellent written, verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
- Have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Have a strong willingness to think critically and problem solve
- Be comfortable with new teaching technologies and willing to adapt to new teaching approaches
