Responsibilities
- Instructing multiple welding related classroom courses including Workmanship, AWPSS and Safety Briefs
- Instructing multiple structural related classroom courses
- Directing and assessing hands on training with practice and tests
- Enforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits
- Assessing student performance & identifying nonconformance to policies, procedures and technical documents
- Supporting various course content reviews and related activities
- Conducting assessments as needed/scheduled
- Manage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork
- Meet with Focus Factory Leadership regarding student performance as needed
- Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics
- Communicate with other Training team members to advance work and communicate issues
- Support the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of welding trade experience
- Ability to participate on business travel up to 15%
- Advanced educational course work including certifications, associates or other advanced education degree
- Instructing/teaching experience
- Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS …ETC)
- Currently qualified & proficient in 3 or more welding processes
- Experience with non-destructive testing, AWPSS & SRT
- Proficiency with communication & virtual technologies
Skills
- Strong ability to prioritize and complete multiple complex assignments
- Strong ability to lead and direct in a classroom and workshop environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to think critically and problem solve
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching others and leading student classes
- Demonstrated commitment to customer-service, safety & procedural compliance
- Ready to learn and take on additional responsibilities and duties as needed

- Comfortable with new teaching technologies and willing to adapt to new teaching approaches
- Must be able to complete and maintain NDT requirements for Welding Qualifications
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to maneuver throughout the facility and units to support all areas as required
