Structural Steel Welder

Essential Functions

• Produce acceptable groove welds on code and non-code work in the flat, vertical and horizontal positions using the FCAW process.
• Produce acceptable fillet welds on code and non-code work in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions using the FCAW and SMAW processes.
• Pass standard fillet break tests and bend tests on groove welds.
• Be trained and certified in multiple positions and processes, including welding on fracture critical materials.
• Use grinders and other hand and power tools commonly used in the welding industry.
• Work in an open-air environment during various weather conditions.
• Perform physically intensive tasks such as standing for many hours, stooping, bending, lifting, and reaching.
• Report to work in a drug-free state.
• Have a good level of hearing and vision for both personal safety and the safety of others.
• Report to work on time and complete the entire shift.
• Exhibit safety values consistent with state and federal rules and regulations, as well as adhere to company safety policies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team and have an attitude that fosters team cohesion.
• Listen attentively to supervision and follow directions accurately and promptly.
• Learn from supervision, mentors, and daily work practices in a timely and accurate manner, developing and maintaining the company's safety and quality standards.
