About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Project Manager to join a growing structural engineering team in Seattle. This individual will play a key role in the management, design, and delivery of a diverse range of projects while serving as a primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and internal project teams. The ideal candidate is a technically strong structural engineer who enjoys client interaction, mentoring junior staff, and taking ownership of projects from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead structural engineering projects from proposal through construction completion.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor project financial performance, scope, and profitability.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

Structural Engineering & Design

  • Perform and oversee structural analysis and design for a variety of building types.
  • Review calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality control throughout project development.
  • Evaluate existing structures and develop retrofit or renovation solutions when required.
  • Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and site observations.

Client Development & Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to existing clients and project partners.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with architects, developers, owners, and contractors.
  • Participate in business development efforts, networking activities, and industry events.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat work and expanded services.
  • Assist with proposals, project pursuits, and client presentations.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, designers, and project engineers.
  • Delegate work effectively while maintaining accountability for project deliverables.
  • Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
  • 7+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and foundation design.
  • Experience with applicable building codes and structural design standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
