Structural Engineer Intern

Responsibilities

• Support field evaluation of existing structures
• Assist in the development of calculations and analytical models in steel and/or concrete
• Produce basic engineering sketches for drafting
• Assist in developing reports

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil / Structural Engineering
• Experience: 0–1+ years (minimum 0 years, maximum 1+ years)
• Licensure: Eligible to take E.I.T. within one year of start date (preferred)

Skills

• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of design codes required; Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
• Other Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Individual field assignments have unique requirements; must meet client‑specific site requirements prior to deployment; continued employment subject to availability of other assignments if unable or unwilling to meet assignment‑specific requirements. Unique requirements may include:
  • Physical mobility (on the ground and at heights)
  • Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
  • Work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding/ladders using required fall protection
  • Work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind) while wearing appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi‑vis safety vests, leather gloves, leather steel‑toed work boots)
  • Position yourself to work in confined spaces
  • Adhere to client’s random drug testing program prior to site entry
  • Meet client’s facial hair safety policy prior to site entry

Pay

Pay range: $18.00 per hour – $28.00 per hour. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonus and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans in addition to base pay to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results.
