Structural Engineer in Training
Responsibilities
Aid in the development and preparation of plans, specifications, technical reports, and estimates.
Support the design and construction of structural systems including reinforced concrete, wood, masonry, structural steel, steel joists, and light gauge steel.
Contribute to the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, focusing on water-tight structures.
Collaborate with design engineers to develop structural designs for commercial, industrial, and residential structures.
Monitor and oversee construction sites during project phases.
Create project drawings and details using design drafting software.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis) or related field
- Successfully completed the Fundamentals in Engineering, or ability to complete within 6 months
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and computer aided design software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a curious mindset
- Ability to travel as required
Qualifications
- Basic working knowledge and experience with Revit
- Experience or internship related to structural design, building construction, or project management
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
- Standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Occasional climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight
- Rarely lifting up to 50 pounds
- Inspection of equipment, structures, or materials to identify errors or defects
- Wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required
- Occasionally work evenings and weekends with potential overtime
- Travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays
