Structural Engineer III(OH)

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and certify cutting edge products and services covering advanced mission payloads, electronic systems, aircraft, and orbital/exploration systems.
• Examine complex metallic and composite structures and systems.
• Work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Perform static strength analysis and classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods.
• Conduct fatigue and damage tolerance analysis using tools like NASGRO or AFGROW.
• Author substantiation reports based on engineering principles and practices.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering tools.
• Experience with static strength analysis and classical analysis.
• Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Liaison Engineering experience.
• Aircraft Modification experience.
• Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis tools.
• Ability to perform fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
• Ability to author substantiation reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 6 or more years of relevant experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.

Skills

• Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles.
• Experience with parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
