Structural Engineer

About the role
You will perform structural engineering tasks for cold-formed steel, steel, and wood building components, prepare plans and details, ensure code compliance, and collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams. The position offers a long-term growth opportunity within a newer structural department backed by an established company, with direct interaction with owners, builders, contractors, and consultants.
For the first six months, the role is full-time in-office, with potential to transition to a hybrid schedule. You will work closely with a Professional Engineer (PE) who founded the structural department.
Responsibilities
- Perform calculations for cold-formed steel, steel, and wood building components.
- Prepare plans and details to show design intent.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes.
- Coordinate plans and details with documents from other trades.
- Attend design meetings with architects, engineers, general contractors, and sub-contractors.
- Develop working relationships with project engineers, project managers, estimators, and the BIM team.
- Work with fabrication and manufacturing teams, focusing on cold-formed steel design processes.
Requirements
- Structural engineering expertise.
- Proficiency in structural design and calculations.
- Experience with structural steel and steel structure design.
- Ability to use AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience in civil engineering and concrete work.
- Steel experience is essential.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $57.00 per hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
Schedule
Full-time in-office for the first six months, with potential to transition to a hybrid schedule thereafter.
