We are seeking an adaptive and thoughtful Structural Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our growing Birmingham team. In this role, you will contribute to structural engineering projects from concept through construction while continuing to grow as a licensed professional. You will work with experienced engineers, BIM professionals, and clients, with mentorship and career support from KPFF’s engineering team. You will take on meaningful project responsibilities, strengthen your technical and leadership skills, and contribute to impactful work locally and nationwide.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 4 years of structural engineering design experience (project management experience is a plus)
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, RISA-3D, or similar
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC)
- Experience with BIM software such as Revit
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
