Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for modular data center facilities, including structural frames, foundations, floor systems, wall panels, and roof assemblies.
- Develop and review structural drawings, specifications, and calculations for modular units and site infrastructure.
- Prepare and stamp engineering documents as required by project specifications, permitting authorities, or clients.
- Evaluate structural systems for load capacity, code compliance, and compatibility with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within modular builds.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations, including IBC, ASCE 7, and local jurisdictional requirements.
- Cookordination with project managers, estimators, mechanical and electrical engineers, and operations leadership during pre-construction and design phases.
- Support value engineering efforts to optimize structural systems for cost, schedule, and constructability.
Field and Project Support
- Conduct site visits to assess foundation and site conditions, verify structural installation compliance, and support field teams.
- Provide technical guidance to field crews on structural requirements and assembly methods during construction and module installation.
- Review and interpret field conditions and recommend design modifications as needed.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and client-facing discussions.
- Support structural commissioning, inspections, and project closeout activities.
Required Specific Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license, required.
- Minimum [X] years of structural engineering experience, preferably in modular construction, data centers, or mission-critical facilities.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, SAP2000, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, and other relevant structural codes and standards.
- Working knowledge of reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites and fabrication facilities as required.
Preferred Experience
- With modular or prefabricated building structural systems.
- Familiarity with data center design standards and mission-critical facility requirements.
- SE (Structural Engineer) licensure in applicable states.
- Experience with design-build project delivery in a contractor environment.
- Familiarity with seismic design requirements and bracing systems for equipment and modular structures, including compliance with ASCE 7 seismic provisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
