Structural Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Structural Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our Restoration Engineering and Building Envelope team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will apply a diverse knowledge of construction, engineering principles and practices in broad areas.

About the Role

This position involves evaluating and restoring various structures such as parking garages, plazas, and building envelopes. You will be part of a design team that works closely with project managers, other restoration engineers, and design technicians.

Responsibilities

• Aid in project design, report, specification, and drawing production.
• Perform limited project structural engineering analysis and design.
• Assist during the evaluation phase, including field review of existing structures, report writing, repair option development, and construction cost estimation.
• Assist during the construction document phase, including repair option review, drawing and specification development, and construction cost estimation.
• Assist with construction document development using CAD and/or Revit.
• Aid during the bidding phase, including pre-bid meetings, addenda, bid evaluations, alternate and substitution reviews.
• Aid during the construction administration phase, including pre-construction meetings, construction review, project meetings, test report overview, project close-out, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required, Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 4+ years’ experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Related work experience with building facades, parking structures preferred, but not required.
• Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time in the field.
