Structural Engineer
About the role
The successful candidate will lead the charge on expansions within Scot Forge's manufacturing facilities, focusing on structural engineering and project management.
Responsibilities
- Lay out and design reliable foundations for unique pieces of machinery using SolidWorks & 2D CAD.
- Analyze project feasibility, develop budgets, and generate ROI reports.
- Create and maintain visual schedules for building/foundation projects using MS Project.
- Schedule and instruct work performed by various sub-contractors for plant building and office projects.
- Oversee the quality and safety of external contractors' work for the installation of buildings, foundations, and utilities.
- Modify, redesign, and repair existing structures as needed.
- Ensure designs meet/exceed respective codes through analysis, validation, and due diligence.
- Aid in mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural / Structural Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of five years of Structural Engineering experience.
- Strong project management skills (degree and/or experience).
- Knowledge of crane code manufacturing (CMAA).
- Experience with plant utilities, civil engineering, building codes, and environmental codes.
- Proficiency in structural blueprint reading & 2D CAD generation.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Project).
- Excellent communication, organization, and detail-oriented skills.
Qualifications
- BS in Architectural / Structural Engineering or related degree.
- Minimum of five years of Structural Engineering experience.
- Strong project management skills (degree and/or experience).

The estimated pay range for this position is the lowest and highest range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. The actual pay offered to a candidate will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, geographic location and prevailing minimum wage, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
Schedule
In-Person based in Spring Grove, IL with occasional travel to Franklin Park, IL and Clinton, WI. Monday - Friday 7AM - 5PM
