Structural Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering Division in Albany (Latham), NY. The division provides complete building engineering services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering, covering feasibility studies, analysis, project design, and construction. Our engineers handle new construction, renovations, additions, analysis, special structures, and design/build projects for diverse clients. The Structural Discipline focuses on new design, repair, rehabilitation, investigation, and performance evaluation of constructed works.

This position will work under the supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports. You will collaborate within multi-discipline teams and work independently on a variety of project types, including K-12 and higher education, municipal, healthcare, industrial, commercial, and unique projects. Responsibilities

• Determine structural loading criteria, perform complex design calculations, and prepare structural specifications
• Perform field investigations and document findings
• Work closely with other engineering and architectural disciplines
• Produce construction documents using Revit (BIM)
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and perform field observations during the construction administration (CA) phase

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with structural coursework
• Engineering in Training Certificate (E.I.T.) required
• Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering preferred
• 0 to 10 years of experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and/or wood design
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and structural engineering design software (RISA, SAP, and/or TSD)

Pay

Salary Range: $62,000 - $105,000 per year. The specific salary offered may be influenced by factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
