Amentum is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to work in our Hanover, MD office. You will perform structural engineering design on small to mid-size, fast-track design-build and design-bid-build projects for Federal clients, adapting to changing requirements and priorities while working both independently and as part of a larger design team. Experience includes design, drafting, specifications, structural analysis, proposals, and procurement, with the ability to coordinate closely with architects, engineers, clients, end users, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Maintain project coordination with all disciplines under the direction of the Supervising Architect.
- Provide status updates on assignments regarding schedule, budgets, delays, and problems.
- Continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities.
- Ensure quality, quantity, and completeness of engineering work.
- Perform basic and detailed engineering calculations; prepare specifications, reports, and data tables.
- Prepare, review, and approve drawings as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between design and drafting groups.
- Perform task management as directed by the Department Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- 7–15 years of structural engineering experience, particularly with steel and concrete construction.
- Civil/Structural Engineering license in Maryland or another U.S. jurisdiction.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in word-processing and integrated software applications.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- U.S. citizenship (required due to the nature of the work).
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI Full Scope Poly Security Clearance (desired).
Pay
Salary range: $120,000 – $130,000. The estimated compensation for this role is $125,000.
