Responsibilities
- Perform structural design and analysis.
- Assist in the design and preparation of structural construction documents for multi-family, mixed-use, and residential developments.
- Perform engineering calculations and structural analysis under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Support the design of mid-rise wood-frame structures, structural steel framing systems, reinforced concrete systems, transfer slabs, shear wall systems, flat plate construction, composite slab (Com-Slab) systems, light-gauge steel framing, and shallow and deep foundations.
- Develop structural details and support project documentation throughout all design phases.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and owners.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, technical documents, and engineering reports.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and assist in resolving design issues.
- Communicate design intent and technical requirements to contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and field observations during construction.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for conformance with design intent.
- Assist in documenting observations and preparing field reports.
- Support project teams in addressing construction-related questions and challenges.
- Learn and apply company technical standards, procedures, and quality-control processes.
- Attend in-house training sessions and continuing education programs.
- Work toward obtaining professional licensure (EIT/PE).
- Perform work consistent with professional and ethical engineering standards.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering.
- 2-3 years’ experience in structural design, planning, and engineering.
- General knowledge and experience with AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- General knowledge of building codes, standards, zoning, construction materials, and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong leadership abilities.
Qualifications
- Licensure (EIT/PE) is a plus.
- Experience with Revit is advantageous.
- EIT/PE license track is encouraged.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
